Napoleonic Wars - 1803-1815
  • Napoleon used army forces after returning from a campaign in Egypt to secure the French Government from the power of the Directory.
  • The Second Coalition forces at war with France were defeated, cementing Napoleon's power as a new leader.
  • Napoleon crowns self as emperor of France
  • Multiple quick and decisive army victories are made by France, as Napoleon expands his army and pushes back opposition, first from the Third Coalition, to the Fourth Coalition, the Fifth, and the Sixth.
  • Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 goes to Britain, giving Britain its reputation as number one in the naval powers.
  • Napoleon expands through France further until 1812, when he attempted a Russian campaign. Proving disastrous, many soldiers were lost to various influences and the French Army was forced to retreat towards France.
